Now in its eighth year, our Venture Summit continues to raise the bar in terms of high-level content and quality attendees. Historically this program has exceeded 500 attendees, including about 100 venture capitalists from the Bay Area and across the country.

This year, we’re excited to feature Senator Tom Daschle for a 40-minute keynote address, followed by a fireside chat between Senator Daschle and Life Technologies CEO Greg Lucier. Among other topics, the Senator and Mr. Lucier will speak on issues in the areas of healthcare, life sciences, cleantech and international business growth. It promises to be an informative and insightful morning.

About Senator Tom Daschle

Senator Tom Daschle is one of the longest-serving Senate Democratic leaders in history and the only one to serve twice as both Majority and Minority Leader. In 1978, he was elected to the US House of Representatives, where he served for eight years. In 1986, he was elected to the US Senate and was chosen as Senate Democratic Leader in 1994. Since leaving the Senate, Senator Daschle has remained an active and learned voice among policy-makers. He has distinguished his experience in health care through the publication of Critical: What We Can Do About the Health-Care Crisis and has emerged as a leading thinker on climate change and renewable energy policy. In addition, Senator Daschle provides insightful analysis to financial services reform, telecommunication issues, and international trade and tax developments.

About Gregory T.  Lucier, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Life Technologies

Gregory T. Lucier serves as Chief Executive Officer of Life Technologies and as Chairman of the Company’s Board of Directors.
