"The Future of Successful Investment in Biotech”
Wednesday, July 22, 7:00am - 9:00am Hyatt Regency La Jolla at Aventine
Sponsored by Mayer Hoffman McCann, Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, and Porter Novelli Life Sciences
The hope for biotech is well understood and, with a few fits and starts, has delivered - with exceptional and substantial contributions from San Diego. However, the situation for the US biotech industry is changing radically.
For business in general, the global economy has plummeted and capital formation and investments have gone into hibernation. For biotech specifically, promised health care reform will pressure the industry to be even more efficient with both time and money. Pockets of talented and determined resources are emerging around the world with efficiencies that are fundamentally changing drug development and healthcare strategy. Meanwhile, substantial changes to the US regulatory frameworks for drug approval and intellectual property protection are on the table.
So - what’s an investor to do?
To tackle our July meeting topic, the San Diego Venture Group is privileged to have a luminary in the biotech industry moderating the discussion of a panel featuring three experienced, successful and insightful investors – all of whom have been (and continue to be) active in the current environment.
Please join us on Wednesday, July 22 for a look into the future of successful investment in biotech!
